Homage is paid to the inventive spirit of renowned and lesser-known contemporary and historical African Americans through exhibits, lectures, and discussions during this live exhibit running from March 1-31 2013. 

Meet and talk with exemplary entrepreneurs and innovators from Wards 7 and 8 during the week, with one-hour lectures and discussion sessions every Saturday (except the 16th): 11 AM- Noon; 1 to 2 PM; and 3 to 4 PM. A Special Highlights Exhibit and Reception for Innovators and Entrepreneurs will take place from 2 to 5 PM on Saturday, 16 March, with a 3 PM keynote by Patricia Sluby, Exhibit Curator and introducing milliner Crystal Little, cosmetic chemists Dr. Tiffanie Bailey Lash and Dr. Tashni-Ann Dubroy, nutritionist Tambra Stevenson, architect Randall S. Marshall, and entrepreneur Kathy Wilson. Music by Victoria Payton-Webber. All are invited to attend. Attend all Saturday lectures on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the month of March and received a Certification of Completion!

The Museum for Black Innovation and Entrepreneruship's mission is to provide space and support to inspire and celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship within and around the Black experience and to build capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship by increasing and disseminating the knowledge necessary to advance such endeavors. MBIE gratefully acknowledges the United States Patent and Trademark Office, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, for its generous loan of artwork depicting Black inventors and their patents. The fourteen pieces of art reflect a portion of the breadth and depth of Black inventors as part of our Nation's history.
