One of our treasures at THEARC is to have The Washington Ballet present “The Nutcracker” every winter season.  The energy of the children and families who participate in the show resonates throughout our building and sets the mood for the holiday season.  This year more than 300 children participated in the production including 80 students from THEARC.  Additionally, we were lucky to have 4 sold out shows which were well received by guests.   

One of our volunteers, Ms. Kim Wright was so overjoyed about having her first opportunity to see the production after living in the community for over 57 years.  “I cried,” she said.  “I was never able to afford it in the past but having it at THEARC finally made it accessible.”

We were very honored to have such a response and hope we can have many more Nutcrackers which do the same.
