Take The Bus for Some Great Fresh Food
The Ward 8 Farmers Market Circulator Shuttle Bus begins on Saturday, June 16.
From 9 AM-1:30 PM, Ward 8 Farmers Market will have a free shuttle bus circulating throughout the Ward. Check their list of stops, hop on and off as many times as you like. You don't even have to stop at the market, (although that would be very nice.)
The weather is getting warmer and the selection is changing.
Those great early season favorites, asparagus and strawberries are on their last legs. They're not sure they'll have any, depending on the weather. BUT the cherries are being picked right now, and they will have green tomatoes. Garden Path Farm promises chicken, more varieties of beef sausages, and ham hocks.
If you haven't been to the market this season, you haven't seen their new vendors -- Natural Skin care from Ward 8's own Epiphany "Awakening Your Senses," Premium Ice Cream from The Orange Cow, Sweet Potato cakes, and THEARC's teaching garden.
Things are bigger and better.
Visit them between 9:00 AM and 2 PM at THEARC, 1901 Mississippi Ave, SE this Saturday and every Saturday until Thanksgiving. We accept and we DOUBLE* your SNAP, EBT, Food Stamps, WIC or Senior voucher. This is for Maryland residents as well as DC.
See you there!
*Up to $25 per day.
