Students Give Back to Haiti

Students and faculty from The Washington Middle School for Girls had a successful bake sale this past Saturday as part of THEARC’s 5th Anniversary Community Open House.  The girls raised an impressive $200 in support of The Religious of Jesus and Mary's Mission in Haiti.  The Religious of Jesus and Mary, a founder of WMSG, includes Sister Mary Bourdon, the Head of School’s Community.  The sisters have several ministries to the poor in Gros Mourne and Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  WMSG students on several occasions have been supportive of their efforts.  According to Sister Mary, "The girls are ready and willing to share what they have with those who have nothing, and we want to support them in putting others first.  This will, in turn, put them on the road to becoming happy, compassionate, and successful members of their community."
