THEARC is the permanent home of ten world-class cultural and social service agencies-all who embrace the goal of enriching the cultural and social experiences of children and families living east of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC.

Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) at THEARC is the management arm of THEARC, responsible for leading the collaboration of cultural and social service agencies based here. BBAR also manages THEARC Theater, THEARC Community Meeting Room and the Living History at THEARC Frederick Douglass educational outreach program.
