Covenant House Washington at THEARC

Committed to helping youth in crisis reclaim their lives and their dignity, this youth services agency has a long history in the District of Columbia and operates its own facility within THEARC complex. The Nancy Dickerson Whitehead Community Service Center opened in January 2003. Targeting youth ages 16 - 21, the 25,000 square-foot facility offers one of the most comprehensive programs available for youth including: skills assessment, educational services, legal services, life-skills classes, and employment development. Other services include Residential Services, which consists of Crisis Shelter, and Transitional Living Programs, two prevention services programs for youth 11 - 17-Peer Supported Pregnancy Prevention Program (PSP3) and Teen Life Choices (TLC), and the Artisans Woodworking Program. Covenant House Washington believes that every child should have a reasonable chance to live a productive lifestyle. No youth in crisis is ever turned away.
