Parklands Community Center at THEARC

Faith, Love and Commitment are the guiding principles of the Parklands Community Center (PCC). Celebrating 25 years of service East of the Anacostia River, PCC seeks to strengthen the community by concentrating its efforts on strategies that promote healthy family relationships. Through its Parent-Support Center, this organization’s primary goals are to strengthen parenting skills to ensure that children grow up in a nurturing and loving environment; and provide alternatives to the negative choices of substance abuse, gang activities and violence by offering healthy child and family development activities. PCC’s approach includes family counseling, life-skills and parent support training, social service referrals, and family bonding activities.
